Seattle Pride Parade, June 2007 The photos in this series were taken Sunday morning in the staging area for the Seattle Pride Parade, before the parade began. I like wandering around taking photographs of people getting ready, practicing, and just hanging out with others, and occasionally talking with people, like me. It's the best part and time of the event. Some like the parade, and that's cool, but I like the time before. And once the parade starts I'll take some shots as they leave the starting area, but after that I'm off. I want to make one last point. It may be the Seattle Pride event, but it's about people. While the 2007 parade didn't seem to have as many people along the route as last year, it did seem to have as many groups in the parade, or so it seemed. The difference this year, to me, seemed to be the lack of families. I would guess last year's was a novelty as it was the first time it was downtown, outside the Capitol Hill area where it had long been a mainstay. And there were problems with the organizers and supporters, something beyond my interest. There are other sources of images for the parade itself. There are more photos on Page 2 and Page 3. | |||||
