Guide to Map of Mt Rainier NP Advisories about Google map display and and about the Carbon River Road. One of the most photographed places in Washington (state) is Mt. Rainier NP with 1.7 to 1.9 million visitors annually. While many visitors aren't serious or professional photographers, almost everyone takes pictures of their visit, and where many of those photographs are just to document their visit, some photographs are taken to market the images. That doesn't mean visitors don't want to photograph scenic places in the NP or don't want the best photographs possible. To assist visitors and photogarphers, Tom Haseltine has published two pamphlets for places to photograph in the NP, divided into the northern and southern halves of the NP. The goal here is to present the areas, locations and places in the pamphlets on Mt Rainier NP which are divided into catagories below and includes the number on the map and description with the pamphlet. The southern map was printed before the new visitors center at Paradise replaced the old one, but otherwise, the information is accurate and useful. Guide The hikes are catagorized as: Trail, trail(s) to waterfalls or lakes; Trail, trails to meadows, forests, views, vistas, etc.; View, places or overlooks for views and vistas; Place, places for facilities and photo opportunities.
