Guide to Map of Mt Rainier NP Advisories about Google map display and and about the Carbon River Road. One of the most photographed places in Washington (state) is Mt. Rainier NP with 1.7 to 1.9 million visitors annually. While many visitors aren't serious or professional photographers, almost everyone takes pictures of their visit, and where many of those photographs are just to document their visit, some photographs are taken to market the images. That doesn't mean visitors don't want to photograph scenic places in the NP or don't want the best photographs possible. While no book has yet to fully address those interests, a recently published book by Greg Vaughn comes close, "Photographing Washington", Phototrip USA Publishing, 2013. The goal here is to present the areas, locations and places in the chapter on Mt Rainier NP from the book with some variations. The Wonderland Trail is excluded as it's too extensive to include with this Web page, two areas were split into two separate areas each, and one place was added which was included in combined area. Guide The hikes are catagorized as: Entrance, one of the five in the NP; Location, information about the area, location and places; Trailhead, trails to meadows, forests, views, vista, etc.; Trailhead, trail(s) to waterfalls or lakes.
